On our recent trip through Oklahoma, we recently made a stop in Mt. Vernon, Missouri to see if we could find any city directories at the local library. Hugh Breeding Inc. ran a major terminal there headed by Howard Eden for many years and it grew quite large into the 1970’s. These city directories are the first step toward eventually getting in touch with families that had someone who worked at the company.
Luckily, I was able to
find three directories at the local library that were from 1965, 1968 and
1972. With those three time periods, we
are able to string together a listing of employees and most importantly, those
that worked at Breeding for an extended time.
From 1965, these were
